Why Koa exists
A koala, a seagull, a patched-up sail — and a very big ocean full of places worth caring about.
Koa's Beach Adventures began with a simple idea: children learn best when they don't feel like they're learning at all. When a story carries them somewhere real — a beach they could one day stand on, an animal that actually lives there — the facts stop being facts. They become part of an adventure a child was already having.
So every book follows the same promise. Koa arrives somewhere new. He meets a local friend who knows that place better than anyone. Together they discover what makes it special — and together they leave it a little better than they found it. The local friend teaches Koa about their home; Koa shares what he knows about caring for the world. Nobody lectures. Nobody knows everything. Learning is always shared.
Every adventure weaves together the same five threads:
